Ubisoft recently released its quarterly revenue report and discussed the games it plans to release next year. According to the company, games such as Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Skull & Bones and more will be released between April 2022 and April 2023. However, that was not the only thing discussed during the interview.
Ubisoft’s president, Yves Guillemot, said the company has sufficient financial stability to remain independent, but future offers for acquisition will be reviewed. This seems like a standard response from any company, but given the fact that Microsoft and Sony have been on a buying spree lately, we’d say it’s interesting to give this detail. Many experts also think that Ubisoft is willing to be sold to another company.
Ubisoft’s current market cap is around $7 billion, but any bid would need to be much higher, perhaps more than about 45% of the current share price. That could push the final bid from a company like Microsoft to over $10 billion.
