The Sims Series celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. EA and Maxis crown this special turning point with new packages, a 25 -hour live broadcast and free prizes for The Sims 4. However, the company may have another surprise that will delight nostalgic fans.
Shared tips on official social media accounts contain some items of The Sims 1 and The Sims 2. Now a new report argues that these two classic games will be re -published for modern systems.
The Sims 1 and 2 can return
According to a report published by Kotaku, EA is preparing to reunite The Sims 2, which was released in 2000 and The Sims 2, released in 2004, to work smoothly on today’s computers. According to a source with information on the subject, this version will include all expansion packages and the launch is planned to be made before the end of January. So the games can soon meet players.
For the fans of the series, this news is quite exciting. The first game received seven expansion packages in total, while The Sims 2 had expanded its content with its eight expansion package.
Original versions can no longer be purchased
Another important point that Kotaku emphasizes is that both games cannot be officially purchased. The original version of The Sims is only in physical disk format, while The Sims 2’s digital store page was removed about ten years ago. For this reason, it is very difficult to get the old games of the series legally.
Will the games come to the consoles?
For now, reports focus only on the PC version. However, if these renewed versions really emerge, EA’s curiosity will bring games to modern consoles. Until an official announcement has been made, it is useful to approach these leaks cautiously.
On the other hand, although many players expect The Sims 5 to be released, it is known that EA has no such plan for now. The company plans to at least update The Sims 4 in the near future and continue to add content.
