According to the US-based market research company IDC, the serious decline in the global PC market continues at full speed. In the second quarter of 2022, there was a 15.3 percent decrease compared to the same period of the previous year. It also didn’t even become a growing company. All manufacturers experienced notable decreases of 4 percent to 27 percent.
As of the second quarter of 2022, Lenovo was the top selling computer brand. The Chinese company took the top spot with 17.5 million sales and had a 24.6 percent market share. However, there was a 12.1% decrease in sales compared to the same period of the previous year.
The company whose sales decreased by a record number during this period was HP. The sales of the US company decreased by 27.6% compared to the previous year. However, it still ranked second in the global PC industry with 13.5 million shipments and 18.9 percent market share.
Another US-based manufacturer Dell comes in third place right after HP. The company sold 13.2 million units in the second quarter of 2022 and has a market share of 18.5 percent. In addition, it experienced a decrease of 5.3 percent compared to the previous year and managed to get rid of the problems that affected the whole world with minimum damage.
One of the companies that suffered the most in this process is Apple. The company, which has appeared in the sector with its Mac models, made 4.8 million sales in the second quarter of 2022 and took a 6.7 percent share of the cake. Its sales decreased by 22.5 percent compared to the second quarter of 2021.
