A US -based group of physicists developed a special device that interacts with the magnetic field of the planet to generate electricity from the Earth’s return energy and offered experimental evidence. The study, published in Physical Review Research, has the potential to change existing assumptions about geophysical energy capture limits.
The scientific world argues whether the enormous rotational movement of the Earth for decades has been transformed into useful power. The rotation of the Earth throughout its own magnetic field can trigger an effect called electromotor force, which can make electricity production possible. However, previous initiatives who tried to put this theory into practice failed.
Experimental steps and new discovery
Three scientists conducting the research; Christopher Chyba of the University of Princeton, Kevin Hand of Jet Propulsion Laboratory and Thomas Chyba of Spectral Sensor Solutions, claimed that this problem lies in experiments, not in theory. Their aim was to eliminate all external variables that could hide ambiguous energy by isolating the mechanism.
The team developed a special device using a cylinder of manganese-chink ferrite, a weak conductive material known for its magnetic shield properties. The device was designed to aligned along the north-south axis and bent at an angle of 57 degrees. This settlement enabled the device to be in a position perpendicular to the return path of the Earth and its magnetic field lines.
Unlimited energy hope
Electrodes were placed on both ends of the device and the process of detecting potential differences was performed. When all external light sources were eliminated to prevent external photoelectric noise, a consistent voltage of 18 microvolts was observed in the device. Although this voltage amount is quite small, researchers think that this method may have the potential to reach unlimited energy by adapting to large scales and developing more effective mechanisms.
Although a small amount of energy, such as 18 microvolt, is not suitable for technological use, this invention is seen as the first step in obtaining energy from the magnetic field and return of the Earth. In the future, the growth and development of this study can initiate a new age in energy production. However, it will become clear whether this discovery will encounter an unfortunate similar to the stories of scientists who have previously lost while working on “unlimited energy”.
