IQOO was established on January 30, 2019 as a subsidiary of Chinese phone manufacturer Vivo. However, over time, the company separated from its parent organization and became completely independent. Thanks to the affordable phones it has released in recent years, it is known as a competitor to Xiaomi even in its homeland.

The company introduced its price-performance phone, the U5 5G, today. Looking for a place in the middle segment, the device brings a series of new features. In this way, it will be able to replace the U3 that the Chinese manufacturer launched earlier this year.

IQOO U5 5G features

The iQOO U5 5G comes with a 6.58-inch OLED panel that offers Full HD+ resolution with a 120Hz screen refresh rate. In addition, the front camera will have a drop notch design. When we look under the hood, we see that the phone is powered by the octa-core Snapdragon 695 processor. It will also support 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of memory.

When we look at the camera features, the U5 5G model welcomes us with two rear-mounted lenses. These consist of a 50 Megapixel primary camera and a 2 Megapixel macro sensor. On the front, there will be an 8 Megapixel selfie camera.

Its 5,000 mAh battery will be able to fast charge via Type-C with its 18W adapter. In addition, the power button on the side of the device will also act as a fingerprint reader. The U5 5G will also have a microSD card slot for those who want to increase the memory.

iQOO U5 5G will be sold with three different memory and storage configurations, according to an emerging listing. As far as we know, these will be 8GB, 6GB and 4GB RAM options. It also comes in three color options, Magic Blue, Silver White and Dark Black.

The device is expected to be available for pre-order on December 24 through Chinese e-Commerce sites. However, IQOO is said to be still undecided on its plan to launch this model in other regions, including India.
