Spanish police successfully cracked down the huge IPTV network with hundreds of thousands of subscribers and dozens of dealers in a comprehensive investigation launched in 2020 and working with EUROPOL. According to the reports, the roots of pirated IPTV go back to 2012. The service was constantly avoiding detection by establishing new shell companies.

IPTV with 500 subscribers was crashed

Spanish police have cracked down on a huge network of pirate streaming sites that illegally distribute content from 2,600 TV channels, 23,000 movies and serials to nearly 500,000 users. In a joint operation involving the Spanish police and EUROPOL, the arrest of four responsible persons was carried out in Malaga. It is also reported that 95 dealers were identified in the investigation in Spain, Malta, Portugal, Cyprus, Greece and the United Kingdom.

It is stated that the pirate IPTV network uses numerous websites to advertise and promote subscription-based streaming services that offer unlimited access to channels from different platforms. It was also revealed that the profit from the service was about 3 million euros per year, which was laundered by various sources.

As a result of the operation, ten management panels were found connected to 32 servers spread over France, Spain and the Netherlands. Authorities will continue investigations to determine whether other core members of the pirate IPTV network operate in Spain or other countries.
