iPhone orders are in danger: Does Apple separate ways with Boe?
Apple is preparing for an important change in OLED screen supply. For the kidnappers, Samsung and LG are still among the first preferences of Apple, but most of the orders were said to be produced by Boe. However, since the beginning of the beginning of 2024, Boe has been behind its production goals and may lose its orders to its competitors.

Does Apple separate ways with Boe?

Nowadays, Apple has an important position in OLED display supply chain and may lose future orders due to quality problems. The panel giant, which has been forced to produce LTPS OLED panels for iPhone 14, 15 and 16 series, has been able to deliver only 7-8 million panels to Apple since the beginning of 2024, and this figure is well below the company’s targeted 40 million order.

Due to these production problems, Apple has re -evaluated the supply chain. According to industry resources, more ordering to Samsung Display and LG Display instead of Boe is on the agenda. Especially Samsung is expected to receive most of the orders in Boe. LG Display will mainly produce LTPO AMOLED panels for iPhone Pro models.

The problems of Boe with Apple are not new. In 2023, there were light leakage problems around Dynamic Island on iPhone 15 screens, and Apple significantly reduced their orders with the supplier. We even talked about that Boe was temporarily banned by Apple in the past and tried to reduce the costs by changing the circuit structure on iPhone 13 screens.

In this context, Apple can pushed Boe completely out of the supply chain, taking into account past errors. In the meantime, let’s say that the disabling of Boe may lead to some cost increases.
