The competition between Samsung and Apple, the first two companies that come to mind when it comes to smartphones, is getting hotter every year. So much so that Samsung does not neglect to make fun of the iPhone every chance it gets. However, the South Korean technology giant was also making a significant contribution to the success of the iPhone. The reason for this was the screens it provided.

Samsung, one of the most prominent companies in the field of display, has been the primary provider of OLED panels used by Apple in its phones since the iPhone X. However, the statements made by the world-famous Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reveal that this may change.

Chinese company BOE could be the biggest display supplier of iPhone 15s

Kuo says that Apple has agreed with the Chinese company BOE for OLED displays and that Samsung may lose its dominance in the OLED supply for iPhones. According to the famous analyst, BOE’s sales may grow rapidly this year, ahead of Samsung and LG. This means that by 2024, the Chinese company could be the primary supplier of displays, and we could see BOE in most iPhone 15s.

Kuo also added that BOE has received orders for iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus displays, adding that the company’s market share for the two phones may reach 70% in the future. The company only took orders for the 6.1-inch iPhone 14 last year.

Let’s add that it has been stated that BOE will not be the leading display provider for the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max (possibly Ultra). According to Kuo, Samsung will continue to dominate this side.
