At the WWDC 2023 event held on June 5, Apple showed the device “Vision Pro” that it will transition to a new era. The device was described as a “new iPhone” by some, and a “balloon” by others.
While the device is expected to be released in 2024, one of the biggest known facts was of course that Vision Pro will be in communication with all Apple devices. But the extent of this communication will be much more comprehensive than we think, according to the new information.
Apple will place an advanced chip dedicated to Vision Pro in iPhone 15!
According to the latest share of famous analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple will include a more advanced “ultra-wideband” chip in the iPhone 15 series. In this way, the iPhone 15 is expected to provide high-level integration with Vision Pro.
Although it is not known what these improvements encompass, Kuo also shared the most fundamental change that led to this development in the new chip. It has been announced that the production of the ultra-wideband chip will now move from 16 nanometers to 7 nanometers.
With this change, the chip will now be able to offer much better performance, as it will have more transistors, but will still be able to consume lower power.
What is ultra-wideband?
The ultra-wideband chip developed by Apple allows devices to present their location in the most accurate way. The chip is present in all iPhone 11, iPhone 12, iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 models.
Of course, Apple did not develop ultra-wideband technology. The company just developed a chip that offers this technology much better. For this reason, Apple’s services such as AirTag and “Find” work much better than their competitors.
