It would not be an exaggeration to say that among the devices introduced at Apple’s Wonderlust event, the spotlight was on the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max. Not many other devices were introduced anyway, but the innovations in these devices certainly managed to excite Apple fans. One of these features is the Action Key, which replaces the mute button.
The Action Button, which will be available on iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, will get the translation feature a little later.
Thanks to this new button that Apple added to the new generation high-end iPhones, you can assign many shortcuts to a single button. For example, you can turn on the selfie camera by just pressing that button. Or you can open the application you have assigned with a single click.
One of the options for the Action Button will be the Translate app, which will allow you to quickly start translating between two languages without having to open the app.
However, information on Apple’s website says that the translation option will not be available for the Action Key until later this year, which suggests it will be enabled in a future iOS 17 update.
Other options for the action button that are immediately available are:
- Volume on/Mute
- Focus mode
- Camera
- Flashlight
- Voice Memos
- Magnifying glass
- App shortcuts
- Accessibility tools
You will need to hold down the Action button to initiate the assigned action. iPhone 15 models will be available for pre-order on Friday, September 15 and will be available for sale on Friday, September 22.
