There are only hours left for the iPhone 15 launch tomorrow and new information continues to arrive. The latest rumor to emerge is about the weight and dimensions of the iPhone 15.
According to MacRumors sources, the iPhone 15 Pro will be both thicker and lighter than the iPhone 14 Pro. This weight reduction is due to the move from a stainless steel case to a titanium case, as previously reported, and is in line with previous rumors that these phones will be lighter.
According to MacRumors, the iPhone 15 Pro will have dimensions of 146.6 x 70.6 x 8.25 mm and weigh 188 grams. Apparently, there is a similar situation for the iPhone 15 Pro Max. While the thickness is said to have increased from 7.85 mm to 8.25 mm, the weight of the phone drops from 240 grams to 221 grams thanks to the transition to titanium.
In the case of the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, MacRumors says the dimensions and weight should be very similar to previous models, with only minor differences. Here, aluminum is used again for the phone case.
The titanium used in the article is also specifically mentioned and is said to be Grade 5 Titanium or Ti-6Al-4V, known for its “excellent wear resistance”. These Pro models may be the toughest and longest-lasting iPhones Apple has ever released.
It should be noted that these claims are based on pre-production information and Apple may have changed a few aspects of the design before it was finalized.
