Initial reports said that the iPhone 15 Pro would have touch solid state buttons. However, later allegations revealed that Apple may have abandoned this plan for this year’s models.
Now, 9to5Mac’s Ian Zelbo has shared 3D images of Apple’s upcoming iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max plans, which he says come from a “highly reputable source”.
According to Zelbo, Apple will not really use solid state keys on the iPhone 14 Pro models, but instead of the mute key, we will see a button that can offer additional functions, like the Action Button on the Apple Watch Ultra. On normal iPhone 15 models, Apple will keep the mute button that it offered in the iPhone 14 series. In the drawing above, you can see the button difference between the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro.
The camera bump is also among the other interesting changes of the iPhone 15 Pro. Zelbo describes her outings as “much less funny.” According to the images, the Pro Max version has a “slightly larger camera bump than usual”, which may support rumors that Apple plans to add a 6x zoom periscope lens to this model.
Compared to the iPhone 14 Pro seen in this CAD file, features such as narrower bezels, a USB-C port, and the device’s much rounder bezel support the design we’ve seen in previous leaks.
The iOS 17 operating system, which will be released with the upcoming iPhone 15 series, will be introduced at the WWDC event a few weeks later. Apple is expected to announce its new phones, probably around September, as in previous years.
