Apple is expected to introduce the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max models in the next month. Last week, it was claimed that Apple could introduce its new flagship series on September 13. Alongside various features and changes, new rumors suggest that Apple’s Pro models may come with a higher-capacity storage.

According to the news of MacRumors, the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max may have a new 2TB of storage. The claim was echoed by another account on Weibo, adding that Apple could increase the base capacity from 128GB to 256GB on Pro models.

When Apple introduced the ProRes video format in 2021, it increased the maximum storage capacity on the iPhone 13 Pro. The highest quality ProRes video is supported in 4K at 30fps and on iPhone 13 Pro or later with 256GB, 512GB and 1TB storage capacities.

If the storage capacity is 128GB, ProRes video is limited to 1080p at 30fps. A higher storage capacity is required as 10-bit HDR ProRes 4K consumes about 6GB of space per minute. ProRes files can be edited using the Photos and iMovie apps on iPhone, as well as supported video editing tools like Final Cut Pro.

Previous rumors suggest that Apple is expected to increase the price of Pro models this year, and that the company is facing production issues that could delay the launch by several weeks. It is also said that the iPhone 15 Pro Max, the largest in the series, may have the thinnest bezels among all phones.
