Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 15 next month, but rumors of potential production disruptions involving key components like the screen and camera have been confusing. Although the iPhone 15 is expected to be introduced in September, analyst Jeff Pu suggests that Apple has reduced production of its new flagship.

Apple may produce the iPhone 15 in limited numbers at first!

According to a message sent to investors, Pu states that Apple’s iPhone 15 production target by the end of the year has been reduced from 83 million units to 77 million units. This can be called a limited number because this means that the newest device of the iPhone produced 77 million units in the world population of 8 billion.

Analyst Pu cites two key factors that contributed to this revision. First, supply chain challenges are expected to continue and undermine mass production of the iPhone 15. Pu points out, in particular, that the integration of Sony’s camera sensors, the implementation of a new titanium bezel for the Pro models, and the inclusion of a new display with thinner bezels could lead to delays in the production process.

Also, Pu thinks Apple has changed its sales forecasts due to concerns about demand. Speculation is that the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will come with higher price tags than their predecessors, potentially leading to reduced demand.

According to Pu, the reduction in production schedule ahead of launch is not an encouraging sign, and the potential price increase for the iPhone 15 Pro Max could further reduce overall demand.

In Apple’s fiscal 2023 Q3 earnings report, the company saw a decline in iPhone sales revenue from $40.67 billion to $39.67 billion. Apple CEO Tim Cook said in a meeting with investors that the company has seen a decline in iPhone sales in its primary market, the United States, although the company has achieved more positive results in some other regions.

If the analyst’s claims are true, with the iPhone 15 release, Apple’s iPhone sales revenues may decrease further in the fourth quarter of the 2023 fiscal year. What are you thinking? Please do not forget to share your thoughts with us in the comments.
