Leaks about the iPhone 15 family, which is expected to be introduced in October, continue to emerge. According to the leaked information, Apple will use a hybrid lens with glass and plastic layers to maximize camera performance in the iPhone 15 series.
Apple will use hybrid camera technology in the iPhone 15 family
The iPhone 15 Pro models are expected to be the first to feature an A-series chip built on TSMC’s next-generation 3nm technology. It is estimated that the 3nm chip technology will increase the processing performance by 10 to 15 percent and at the same time reduce power consumption by up to 35 percent. It is worth noting that the A17 Bionic processors will only be used in iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models.
It is speculated that Apple will use Sony’s latest “state-of-the-art” image sensors for the iPhone 15 models. Sony uses semiconductor architecture, which allows more photodiodes by placing photodiodes and transistors in separate layers.
The lenses to be used in the iPhone 15 series, which is stated to appear with the configuration called 1G6P, will consist of a glass element and then six plastic elements. The iPhone 15 family will have the same Sony IMX sensor as the iPhone 14 Pro models. It is among the leaked information that the company will include a wider aperture in the new models, and that the cameras will capture up to 20 percent more light in this way.
Allegedly, Apple will include a 1-inch Sony IMX903 sensor in the iPhone 15 Pro Max model. It is stated that the main camera of the device will be 48 Megapixels.
Famous analyst Ming-Chi Kuo announced that the company will only include a periscope lens in the Pro Max model. Apple will use a 12 Megapixel periscope lens with 6x zoom on the iPhone 15 Pro Max model. Additionally, telephoto and ultra-wide cameras supplied by Sunny Optical Technology will feature five- and six-element hybrid lenses.
One of the most important changes in the iPhone 15 series is described as the Type-C input. According to the leaked images, Apple will include Type-C input on all iPhone 15 models. It is worth noting that fast charging technology can only be done with Apple-approved cables.
