Apple introduced the iPhone 14 family at its event recently. According to the information announced, the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max models have dual-frequency GPS.
The US government has announced that there are 17 satellites capable of sending L5 signals with higher signal strength. Officials underlined that L5 satellites will provide the most advanced civilian GPS signal to users worldwide.
iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max came with dual-frequency GPS
The Apple Watch Ultra model was introduced with L5 satellite support on the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max models. Satellites emitting the L5 signal have more advanced features than L1 that can bypass physical obstacles such as buildings and trees.
iPhone 14 Pro models, which can work with both L1 and L5 signals, will have enhanced location accuracy in map and navigation applications. According to the specifications published by Apple, the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus models do not have dual-frequency GPS support. However, all iPhone 14 models have support for other navigation systems, including GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS and BeiDou.
