Samsung Display is said to be taking orders for more OLED panels from Apple and purchasing more production equipment to meet the growing demand. Apple’s expectation of significant sales success from the iPhone 14 series requires increased production of LTPO OLED panels. Due to problems with competing suppliers, it falls to Samsung Display to shoulder the burden of this demand.
Samsung Display is already the lion’s share supplier of all iPhone 14 panel shipments; before this news, they were taking 82 percent of the orders. Now it seems that Samsung’s share in the iPhone 14 will increase even more. The order number, which was 130 million before, has increased to 149 million units with the latest update.
To meet Apple’s growing demand for OLED panels, Samsung is reportedly ordering more production equipment from three suppliers, including AP Systems, HB Solution and Philoptics. Samsung will install this new equipment at its facilities in Vietnam.
