The most striking of these features is the accident detection feature, which allows you to automatically call the authorities and reach them in case your phone is far away from you or you cannot reach the phone at the time of the accident.
Of course, this feature cannot be easily tested like other smartphone features. Therefore, a YouTuber created a crash scenario to test the crash detection feature of iPhones. But does this crash feature really work as it should?
Accident detection tested with a remote control car
Known for its strange and interesting tests on phones, the YouTube channel TechRax has rolled up its sleeves to test this new feature of the iPhone 14 family. YouTuber, who set up a mechanism using an electric skateboard connected to the gas pedal of a car with a fixed steering wheel, wanted to test the accident detection feature in this way.
Missing the target in the first few tries, the YouTuber finally succeeded. The iPhone 14 Pro in the vehicle, which slightly hit the target at low speed, gave an emergency warning about 10 seconds after the accident. In this emergency warning, after the notification message, the phone makes a loud sound for 10 seconds and then calls the authorities if you do not cancel the warning.
In the second attempt, the iPhone in the vehicle hits a larger target faster and harder, enters emergency crash detection mode immediately after the crash and counts down from 10. Of course, YouTuber canceled this warning before it was too late.
As a result, the accident detection feature found in the iPhone 14 family, Apple Watch SE 2nd Generation, Apple Watch 8 and Apple Watch Ultra has been proven to work successfully. We hope no one ever needs this feature.
