As it is known, Apple introduced the iPhone 13 series and some new devices two weeks ago. There was an expectation that the new iPhone models would return to Touch ID instead of Face ID technology, but Apple did not give up Face ID on the iPhone 13s. There is no problem so far, but it turned out that there is an interesting situation with Face ID when the screens of the new iPhones are changed for any reason.

According to a new report, Face ID becomes inoperable if the screens of the iPhone 13s are not repaired or replaced outside of Apple’s authorized service. According to the video, which was prepared by quoting a video published by the Channel Phone Repair Guru channel on YouTube, the Face ID of the iPhone 13 does not work even if you replace the screen with the original one. The YouTuber shows that the replaced screens (one not original) have nothing to do with Face ID. However, Face ID stops working after the screen is replaced.

There is no Face ID related component on the screen:

iPhones do not notify the user that the screen is not genuine. However, there is no reason why Face ID should not work, as the normal screen itself does not have any components related to the Face ID function.

For now, it is unknown whether the problem is caused by a software bug or whether Apple has tightened its repair policies against third-party repair services not licensed by the company. Apple has faced severe criticism in the past for its policies regarding third-party repair services.

So far, there has been no official statement from Apple about this situation. In case this is a bug, a software update will be released and the issue will be resolved. Because the iPhone 13 series is already suffering from various software bugs. Although this is not a mistake, it would be a better choice not to replace your screen anywhere other than Apple authorized services.
