The European Union Parliament has been holding various discussions on the fact that smart phones, tablets, computers and similar technological products have different charging ports and the environmental waste load created by this situation for a long time. As a matter of fact, with the last decision taken in this direction, it was decided that iPhone models should also have USB-C ports.
Although this decision will not reach the next year, Apple is required to use the USB-C charging connection in the iPhone 16 series, which will be released in 2024. But we see that some users do not want to wait that long.
A user managed to add a USB-C port to the iPhone 13!
In the past months, an iPhone user, a software and hardware developer named Ken Pillonel, has proven that he has succeeded in integrating Type-C input into the iPhone X model, drawing attention to a point where Apple has been seriously criticized in recent years in his video.
Pillonel, which became a hot topic all over the world in a short time, put the smartphone in question for sale. The model, which was exhibited on eBay, found buyers for exactly 86 thousand dollars. Thereupon, many users started to try similar operations on their iPhones.
As you can see in the video, which you can access by clicking here, the YouTube channel Restore Technique manages to add a USB-C charging port to the iPhone 13 model. Moreover, while doing this, it does not take a step to change the image of the device.
In order for this new system to work properly, it even removes the C94 chip that Apple uses in its charging cables. Then, he soldered the Type-C socket used by Samsung in the Galaxy A52 models onto the mini board he had specially ordered.
