iPad Air and iPad Mini with OLED screens are coming

Apple is expected to announce the new generation iPad Pro series in 2024. So much so that current reports are that these models will offer significant upgrades, including an OLED screen. However, this upgrade may not be only for iPad Pro. According to information from Omdia, Apple is also working on OLED versions of the iPad Air and iPad mini models.

It is said that the new generation iPad Pro will be the first major update since 2018, especially the OLED screen. At this point, research firm Omdia reported that negotiations have begun for iPad Pro and iPad Mini with OLED screens.

It is said that Apple will cooperate with LG, Samsung and Chinese suppliers for the OLED panels in question. However, the final decision has not been made yet. Niketim is pointing to 2026 for iPad Air and Mini, compared to the OLED screen iPad Pro to be introduced in 2024. It seems like Apple isn’t fully committed to bringing more advanced display technology to its mid-range tablets just yet.

Therefore, the technology giant may be planning to review its decision based on the market success of the OLED screen iPad Pro. What we know about iPad Mini and Air models with OLED screens is limited to these for now.

Additionally, the current report states that the upcoming seventh-generation ‌iPad mini‌ and sixth-generation ‌iPad Air‌ will offer minor innovations focused on new processors. Apparently, the biggest revision will be made in models with OLED screens.
