The new model adopts a similar design as its predecessor. HMD says the phone has IP69K certification as well as MIL-STD-810 certification. HMD claims the new phone can even withstand pressure washers. The Nokia XR21 also has a Gorilla Glass Victus protected display and comes with a free 1-year screen replacement warranty in Europe, Australia and New Zealand. The phone is also resistant to drops from a height of about 2 meters.
Nokia XR21 comes with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 695 processor. The phone, which has a 6.49 inch, FHD + resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 500 nits screen display, offers 6GB RAM 128GB storage space. The phone is powered by a 4800 mAh battery that supports 33w wired charging. Interestingly, the XR20’s wireless charging support is not available in the new model and there is no charging adapter out of the box. According to HMD, the XR21 offers 60% more battery time compared to its predecessor. On the camera side, there is a dual camera setup on the back, 64MP primary, 8MP ultra-wide-angle, while there is a 16MP camera on the front.
3.5mm headphone jack, dual stereo speakers, two hardware hotkeys, fingerprint reader on the side, NFC, dual SIM slots, eSIM support are among the other features of the Nokia XR21. On the software side, the phone comes with Android 12 operating system. HMD will deliver three major operating system updates and monthly security patches for four years.
