Apple officially introduced the iPhone 15 series and iOS 17 update at Wonderlust, the biggest event of the year. After the developer beta that has been running since WWDC 2023, the stable version is finally getting ready to be released. Here are the new features, release date and models that come with iOS 17.
What’s new with iOS 17
The iOS 17 update will be available as of Monday, September 18. It should be noted that updates will be automatically distributed to supported iPhone models from this date.
Apple has focused on communication capabilities with the new version. One of the biggest innovations of iOS 17 is the customizable Contact Posters that will appear on the call screen. You can put a person’s photo or Memoji on this screen, as well as customize the entire call screen, from text style to color.
NameDrop, a feature similar to AirDrop, is another important innovation. Thanks to this feature, which will work similar to AirDrop, you will be able to send a number and its information saved in your contacts to a different iPhone or Apple Watch.
It will also be possible to bring two iPhones together with this feature. Thanks to SharePlay, you can listen to music, watch movies or play games with another iPhone owner.
In its statement about the new version, Apple said, “iOS 17 offers brand new features that will improve the things you do every day. Express yourself in a unique way when calling or texting. Share content in practical new ways. “And do much more with new experiences special for your iPhone.”
