Apple has started rolling out the fifth major update of the iOS 16 operating system, iOS 16.5, to all its users. Looking at the notes offered by Apple with the update, it was seen that no significant new feature was introduced with the update.

The main purpose of the update was to fix bugs in some of Apple’s apps and the operating system in general, to increase security and improve the experience. The innovations and fixed bugs with the update were shared as follows:

Coming with iOS 16.5:

  • A new Celebration Pride wallpaper for the Lock Screen to honor the LBTQ+ community and culture.
  • Fixed an issue where Spotlight would stop responding.
  • Fixed an issue where the Podcasts app in CarPlay would not load content.
  • Fixed an issue where Screen Time settings were resetting or not syncing on all devices.

In addition, security vulnerabilities in the operating system were closed with the update. Three of these vulnerabilities were known to be actively used.
