After more than a month of testing, Apple has released iOS 15.5 RC for developers and public beta users. RC, or Release Candidate, means the last beta version released before the final. In this context, we expect the iOS 15.5 version to be released next week.
iOS 15.4 version, which was presented to users about a month ago, introduced many innovations to users, from unlocking Face ID with a mask to 120 Hz support for third-party applications and universal control feature. In the new version, namely iOS 15.5, smaller but specific innovations appear.
What does the iOS 15.5 RC update offer?
In the Wallet application of iOS 15.5, users are offered the opportunity to request and send money more easily with Apple Cash card. A new feature in Apple Podcasts to help save your iPhone’s storage and some bug fixes for HomeKit also comes with this update.
As you can imagine, the innovation offered by the Podcast application to save storage space is to automatically delete old podcasts. Fixing issues with triggering home automation, the update features steps to rebrand iTunes Pass.
Available to developers and beta users in the following versions alongside iOS 15.5 RC;
- iPadOS 15.5 RC
- tvOS 15.5 RC
- watchOS 8.6 RC
