Investment bank Cowen’s digital asset unit is shutting down.
Cowen Digital, the digital asset unit launched by investment bank Cowen last year, is closing operations. “We will continue to deliver on this effort, but we will have to do it in a different home,” the team said in a note to clients.

Cowen Digital, the digital asset unit of investment bank Cowen, has decided to close its doors. In a message sent by the team to customers, it was stated that the last day of the Cowen Digital team is Wednesday. The team stated that they initially set out with the goal of creating a full-service platform, but they had to achieve this goal in a different place. However, little was given about the details and reasons for the decision to close.
Cowen Digital was launched in March 2022 as an offering for enterprise customers. However, after the company was purchased with the deal announced last summer, it was decided to close Cowen Digital. A Cowen spokesperson has yet to comment on the matter.
This decision marked the termination of Cowen’s efforts to operate in the digital asset space.
