Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office launched an investigation against Oğuzhan Uğur, who has been collecting aid especially on social media since the first day of the earthquake and working in coordination with many celebrities alongside the BaBaLa TV team, on the grounds of spreading false news.
Investigation on Oğuzhan Uğur
Oğuzhan Uğur, who participated in many aid activities and collected donations, especially with the BaBaLa TV team, after two earthquake disasters in Kahramanmaraş, is being investigated for a tweet shared by his team on social media.
A tweet was shared on the Twitter account of BaBaLa TV, which he owns, that the dam cracked in Kahramanmaraş Kumçatı Village and the wall of Hatay Yarseli Dam cracked.
Later, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Vahit Kirişçi declared that the news was unfounded.
After the news turned out to be false, the BaBaLa TV team immediately deleted the post, but the Attorney General’s Office launched an investigation on the matter.
Oğuzhan Uğur: The information was confirmed by the Ministry
Oğuzhan Uğur, in response to a tweet shared by an account and a post that targeted the information given, said, “The team shared the news because a ministry official confirmed it! When it turned out to be a lie, they immediately deleted it. Correspondence images available. If you’re going to be a follower, let’s share it with you too…! Do you want? Shall we share it with you? Say what?” gave the answer.
