However, some malicious people and fraudsters abused this situation and made provocative posts about the earthquake. The General Directorate of Security (EGM) launched an investigation for the earthquake provocation.
EGM: 154 people were detained, 621 people were prosecuted
The General Directorate of Security (EGM) Anti-Cyber Crime Department does not allow social media accounts that make provocative posts about the earthquake zone. Following the posts that created fear and panic on the internet, EGM announced that legal action was initiated against 621 account managers.
