Philips recently launched the 45-inch 45B1U6900C monitor with Dual QHD resolution (5120×1440p) for productivity and content creation. The brand is now launching a smaller version of the monitor called the 40B1U6903CH. The monitor, which will go on sale this month, draws attention with its Thunderbolt 4 connection.

Philips 40B1U6903CH specifications

With its 40-inch diagonal ultra-wide screen and 5120 x 2160 resolution (5K2K), Philips 40B1U6903CH aims for a detailed and immersive viewing experience. The IPS panel provides 178°/178° wide viewing angles, while bringing the 1000:1 contrast ratio and 1ms fast response time (GtG) to the table top.
VESA DisplayHDR 400 certification improves visual quality by offering improved contrast and color accuracy. In addition, the 40B1U6903CH monitor offers wide support for color gamuts, including 134% sRGB, 103% NTSC, and 98% DCI-P3. Probably one of the monitor’s highlights is the bidirectional Thunderbolt 4 port, which can charge connected devices up to 90W. Data transmission at 40 Gbps with a bi-directional bandwidth, compatibility with USB and DisplayPort is ideal for those seeking flexibility.
Philips 40B1U6903CH offers practical functionality as well as display and connectivity features. USB ports for peripheral connections, an audio output, and built-in speakers for audio playback are located on the monitor. The monitor, which is VESA mount compatible, aims for flexibility in placement and efficient use of desk space. To enhance the user experience and reduce eye strain, the monitor also features Flicker-Free technology that minimizes screen flicker and Low Blue Mode, which reduces harmful blue light emissions.

In addition, the monitor’s SmartContrast technology optimizes image contrast for enhanced visual clarity, MultiView support enables multiple sources to be viewed simultaneously, Picture-in-Picture support allows a second source to be displayed in a smaller window, and KVM switch capability allows two computers to be viewed simultaneously. It makes it possible to control it with a single keyboard and mouse.

Philips 40B1U6903CH price and release date

The Philip 40B1U6903CH will launch in the UK later this month with a price tag of £1,499.99. For customers in the eurozone, the monitor can be ordered for €1,849.
