Apple is preparing to announce major operating system updates with the WWDC 2023 event on June 5th. The company, which will introduce new iOS and macOS versions at the event, is preparing to introduce the new watchOS update. With the new update, the interface design on Apple Watch models may change significantly.
Apple changes the interface with watchOS 10
The company, which will start to offer a new interface design on Apple Watch models with watchOS 10, aims to make a significant change. According to the information received, the new watchOS version will include widgets that started to be used with iOS 14.
According to the famous Apple analyst Mark Gurman, Apple will position the widgets in the center of the clock in the renewed operating system and these widgets can be shaped according to the user’s request. Gurman also claims that elements of the Glences system, which were part of the first Apple Watch models, will be returning.
In addition, it is among the information that Apple is testing a fine-tuning for the physical buttons of the Apple Watch. With the new interface design, the operating system is expected to direct the user to the new widgets view, instead of pressing the digital crown of the smartwatch and taking you to the home screen as the dial currently does in watchOS 9.
Apple, which does not want the user experience of its customers to suffer due to this dramatic change, may offer this interface design as an option in the first place. Thus, users who are accustomed to the old interface design will be able to continue using their watches in the old way.
