Today’s keyboard layouts are based on a logic where two hands are best spread over the space and can reach the keys. Thus, fast typing techniques such as ten fingers emerged. Google, on the other hand, thinks very differently.
What is Gboard Bar?
The keyboard called Gboard Bar was developed only for Japan and all keys are arranged in a single line. This naturally results in a very long keyboard. Its height is calculated as exactly 1.65 meters. While the letters are on the left, there is a space bar at the end, followed by the function, number keys, direction keys and Enter key.
Google Stadia has come to the end of the road
Google states that on such a keyboard, the user will find the letter they are looking for much easier and will guide their hand more efficiently. Wrist fatigue is also reduced because the hand moves in a plane.
On the other hand, it can also be used as a measuring tool and is easier to clean than standard keyboards. In addition to the standard version, there will be illuminated and player versions. However, Google does not intend to offer it for sale. All files are available on Github where users can design their own keyboards.
