Recently, there has been a serious competition in both the graphics card and processor sectors. Accelerating its efforts to produce the fastest processors in the world after AMD’s attack, Intel introduced the long-awaited 13th generation Intel Core processors at the CES 2023 event.
Performance-oriented laptops that will be released in 2023 will push the limits with their operating frequency reaching 5.6 GHz and structures that can reach up to 24 cores.
Intel’s 13th generation mobile processors appear in 4 categories. Thus, options are offered for all devices, from computers that offer high-end performance to computers that stand out with their lightness.
– Intel Core HX series: very high performance with 55W TDP
– Intel Core H series: Powerful computers with a TDP of 45W
– Intel Core P series: PCs that combine performance and lightness with a TDP of 28W
– Intel Core U series: PCs aiming thin and light with a TDP of 15W
World’s fastest mobile processor: Core i9-13950HX
Being the fastest mobile processor in the world, the 24-core 13th generation Intel Core HX pushes the limits with its operating frequency reaching 5.6 GHz.
Of the 24 cores in the processor, 8 are performance-oriented and 16 are efficiency-oriented. The processor with RAM support up to 128 GB supports 5600 MHz in DDR5 technology and 3200 MHz in DDR4.
Compared to the Core i9-12900HX it replaces, the Intel Core i9-13950HX processor offers 11 percent more performance in single-core and 49 percent more performance in multi-core. During this test, MSI GT77 Titan computers with RTX 3080 Ti graphics cards were used for both 12th generation and 13th generation processors.
It is seen that 79 percent performance increase was achieved in the BMW test with Blender v3.3.1, and 74 percent in the Laundromat test. When we look at the Intel Core i9-13950HX gaming performance, we see a 12 percent increase compared to the 12th generation.
In addition to Intel Killer Wi-Fi 6E wireless network technology, Intel’s Double Connect and Bluetooth LE technologies meet laptops thanks to these processors. Pushing the limits with high-speed data transfer, Thunderbolt 4 technology is also among the prominent features of this processor.
Acer, Dell, HP, Lenovo, MSI, Asus and Razer will be the first brands to launch laptops using Intel’s high-end Core HX processors.
13th Gen Intel Core H, P, and U-series
On the other hand, H, P and U series processors have up to 14 cores, and 6 of these cores are focused on performance and 8 on efficiency.
The processor, which can provide a very high speed internet experience thanks to the Intel Wi-Fi 6E network chip, can offer RAM speeds up to 5200 MHz in DDR5 technology and up to 3200 MHz in DDR4 technology.
While the built-in Intel Iris Xe graphics unit in the processor allows you to play games such as LOL and Rocket League even when the device is unplugged, you get a wide range of control thanks to the Intel ARC Control software.
