Intel reached a valuable turning point in the 18A process
The semiconductor giant Intel has achieved a major development on the 1.8NM class 18A production technology, which is very important for him. The company started to produce the first 18A chipsets in Fab 52 and Fab 62 facilities in Arizona and exceeded another critical threshold. The company recently announced that he had chosen Lip-Bu Tan as his new CEO and the shares had risen. Apparently, things are slowly on the track in Intel.

18A is approaching commercial production

Intel Engineering Managers Pancaj Marria, LinkedIn, but later on sharing, “Intel 18a is an exciting milestone! Our team took an important step in the progression of the latest technology semiconductor production by taking part in the forefront of the first party production in Arizona. Kul

So far, Intel has been developing its 18A process at the Oregon facility. However, the start of this process in high -volume production facilities in Arizona shows that technology is closer to commercial production. Although the company is currently working on test chipset plates, it is expected to switch to commercial chip production in the following stages.

Intel will produce nuclear chips of Panther Lake processors, which are expected to be released late this year, with 18A technology. In addition, the Xeon 7 Clearwater Forest processors for data centers will also benefit from this production process. The 18A technology has Gate-al-Around (GAA) Ribbonfet transistors and rear-side power distribution, which Intel has long been working on. These developments aim to improve the performance of processors and to reduce power consumption.
