Intel has been on the agenda recently with its decline in the processor market. However, the brand, which has changed some of its processors, has also stopped in some of its processors. The news about the company’s latest product change came from the Intel Gemini Lake Refresh processor. According to the news, the company will cut support from some of its processors!
Intel is cutting support from Gemini Lake Refresh processor lineup
The Intel Gemini Lake Refresh processor series was launched in 2019. Released as a refurbishment of the original Gemini Lake, these low-end items have a longer lifespan than the original Gemini Lake. However, Intel divided the product change into two categories: Pentium and Celeron.
The first of these categories consists of Celeron N4120, Celeron 4020 and Pentium Silver N5030. The other consists of Celeron J4025, Pentium Silver J5040, Celeron N4020C and Celeron J4125. This processor series is often found in entry-level and ultra-low-power computers.
With all this, the Gemini Lake Refresh series processor models, whose support has been discontinued, are as follows:
- Pentium Silver J5040
- Pentium Silver N5030
- Celeron J4125
- Celeron N4120
- Celeron J4025
- Celeron N4020
- Celeron N 4020C
According to Intel documents, the company will ship the first batch of CPUs by May 24, 2024 and the second batch by February 23, 2024. Final orders for both groups will be placed on November 24, 2023 and August 25, 2023, respectively.
According to recent claims, when Gemini Lake Refresh is almost completely gone, new really low-budget devices will come with Jasper Lake processors by default. Thus, newer 10nm chips, which are believed to offer better performance, will be in use. This situation will be very good for users.
