After performing surprisingly poorly in the second quarter of the year, Intel brought bad news to the computing world. The price increase in the previously mentioned components was confirmed by the company.
Intel raises prices
Price increases have already been experienced in the component world for some time, and costs have increased in the casting industry as well. Intel naturally felt the need to optimize its profit margin. Starting from the third quarter of the year, the prices of end-user and data center-oriented components will be increased. Price adjustments are expected to be more effective on the end-user side.
Intel Optane is obsolete
Price increases will be up to 20 percent on certain products. The company has informed its producer partners. Many components are on the rise, from processors to Wi-Fi connection controllers.
The price increases to be implemented in the third quarter will be reflected to the consumer immediately, but it will take a quarter of a year to reflect on Intel’s financial statements. At a time when the average prices of components such as graphics cards and DRAM are decreasing, the hikes by key companies such as TSMC and Intel render this ineffective.
