Intel has been making restructuring plans for some time now. The tech giant wants to restructure the company as a whole, not just in its factories. It seems that Intel may increase the prices of its current processor series in order to generate revenue in this process.

Intel processors may increase in price

The source of this rumor is Germany’s well-known publication PCGamesHardware and forum moderator “Pockerclock”. According to the source, a document mentioning Intel’s price increases has been confirmed by two German suppliers. According to reports, Intel’s price increases will affect Alder Lake, Raptor Lake and the upcoming Raptor Lake Refresh processors. In addition, the price increase will extend to the Meteor Lake series, which will come under the “Core Ultra” brand.

On the other hand, price increases are not a first for Intel. As it will be remembered, the company did the same thing for all its processors last year and the prices were increased by up to 20 percent. Intel did not explain the extent of this price increase, nor did it officially explain any reason. But he notes that this may have something to do with Intel building semiconductor plants globally, particularly in East Germany.

Intel has already announced that it will set up new production facilities in Europe. For these huge investments, the company is trying to reduce the cost with state-backed subsidies, but things did not go as planned in a 17 billion Euro chip factory to be built in Magdeburg, East Germany. Intel did not get the amount of subsidy it wanted for this facility. Additionally, these price increases have not been officially confirmed by Intel. More detailed information will emerge in the future.
