Years of processor wars keep AMD and Intel in constant competition. In the quarterly reports, an Intel was ahead of an AMD. Intel, which broke AMD’s record in the past months, proved that the 19-13900K processor is the fastest processor in the world, and even broke its own record once again and secured its place.

Following the 13th generation desktop processors that draw attention with their performance, the company introduced its 13th generation mobile processors with a new statement. Thanks to these processors, laptops will have the same performance as desktop computers.

More than 300 variations of 4 processor models will be produced

Intel introduced its 13th Generation processors U, P, H and HX models at its presentation at CES 2023. The U and P models are mainly designed for entry and mid-range business computers and compact devices, while the H and HX models are designed for computers built for mid-range and high-end gaming, business and heavy performance. U model processors, the smallest member of the family, have an energy consumption of 15W, while the energy consumption of the HX models, which is the star of the family, can go up to exactly 55W.

As in the past, each model will have i3, i5 and i7 sub-models. There are 31 processors in total in the 3 sub-models, but Intel officials announced that more than 300 variations will be produced according to the wishes of laptop manufacturers and each processor will be unique. So what do these models offer to users? Let’s see together.

U and P series models

U and P series processors, which we can define as Intel’s low-end monsters, are actually quite rich in performance, although they are the weakest members of the family. The processors, which have a total of 16 cores with 6 performance cores and 8 efficiency cores, come with Intel’s new Iris X graphics processors. Its processors with DDR5 and DDR4 RAM support are also the first processors to use the company’s Movidius VPUs.

It was also announced that these processors support Wi-Fi 6E and 4 Thunderbolt 4 ports.

H and HX series models

Intel’s H and HX series processors produced for gaming and high performance are slightly different from each other. H series processors have 14 cores, while HX series processors have 24 cores. Both processors come with Iris X graphics processor and Movidius VPUs, just like the U and P series.

It supports Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth LE, Bluetooth 5.2 and 4 Thunderbolt 4 ports on processors with up to 128GB DDR4 and DDR5 RAM support.

No details were shared about the manufacturer prices of the processors that we can see in all laptop manufacturers, especially Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, Lenovo, MSI, Razer, Asus, Samsung, or the estimated prices of the computers that will have these computers in 2023.
