Intel has officially confirmed that the BIOS source code of the 12th generation Alder Lake processors has been leaked to the internet and copies are available on sites like 4chan and Github. It is stated that such leaks can potentially reveal bugs that can be exploited in Intel’s hardware.
Intel rewards those who find vulnerabilities
The resulting leak consists of a 6GB file containing tools and code for creating and optimizing BIOS/UEFI images. Despite this leak, Intel states that they believe that the information leaked to the internet will not cause any security vulnerability.
