Intel’s reference program for ultralight laptops, which started as Project Athena, was later changed to Intel Evo. Along with the twelfth generation Intel processors, the Intel Evo program has also been upgraded to the third generation.
Intel Evo program has been renewed
The third generation of the Intel Evo program, targeting fluid and efficient systems, will be aimed at Alder Lake-based Intel Core i5, i7 and i9 processors. On the graphics side, internal Intel Xe units or optionally external Intel Arc graphics cards can be used.
In the program where 12-inch and 16-inch screens will be preferred At least Full HD resolution and backlit keyboards are required. Efficient fanless designs and fanned designs will have a maximum thickness of 15mm. The webcam, on the other hand, has to work at a resolution of at least Full HD 30fps.
The program, which will support Bluetooth proximity sensors as well as biometric login solutions, requires waking up from sleep. At least 8GB of dual-channel RAM and 256GB of SSD storage are required, while Intel Adaptix smart optimization solution will also be included.
Artificial intelligence supported noise canceling systems, optional visual detection, fast charging via USB Type-C, long battery times, WiFi 6E, Thunderbolt 4, optional LTE or 5G modem are available in other dimensions. Foldable screen laptops were not mentioned in the program, but they were present in the leaked presentations. Again, a leaked image shows that there will be calls, messages, photos, file transitions or screen sharing between laptop and mobile devices. The program will probably be updated during the year.
