Intel will release its 14th Gen Meteor Lake and Raptor Lake Refresh processors in the coming weeks. In this context, it is largely clear what both architectures will offer. Today, Intel’s fastest LGA1700 CPU, the Core i9-14900K, was shown live for the first time on the CPU-Z platform. So what does the flagship processor offer? Let’s take a look together.

Intel Core i9-14900K tested

For those who don’t know, the flagship processor of the Raptor Lake Refresh series, the Core i9-14900K, will offer a 16-core configuration, 8P and 16E. Let us remind you that this configuration was also used for the i9-13900K before, but the clock speed will be increased by 200 MHz. The most important feature of the new processor is the 6.0 MHz clock speed, also known as Thermal Speed Boost (TVB) for P Cores.

The CPU-Z screenshots leaked today, while confirming this information, shed light on the performance of the processor. Looking at the images, 125W TDP (Thermal Design Power) and 1,385V voltage were preferred for the i9-14900K. In comparison, CPU-Z scores 978 points in the single-core test and 18,117 points in the multi-core test. We can say that these scores are 9.7/8.4 percent higher than 13900K and 19.4/59 percent higher than 12900K, respectively.
Model CPU-Z Single Core CPU-Z Multi-Core
Core i9-14900K (8 P + 16 E) 6.0 GHz 978 18118
Core i9-13900KS (8 P + 16 E) 6.0 GHz 945 17197
Core i9-13900K (8P + 16E) 5.8GHz 891 16701
Core i9-12900KS (8 P + 8 E) 5.5 GHz 848 11875
Core i9-12900K (8 P + 8 E) 5.2 GHz 819 11424
Ryzen 9 7950X (16 Cores) 5.7GHz 787 15663

The upcoming Intel Raptor Lake Refresh and Meteor Lake processors are expected to be unveiled at the Intel Innovation 2023 event on September 19. Therefore, we think that more details will be shared as the specified date approaches.
