In the past weeks, Intel introduced the 13th Generation Raptor Lake laptop processors, consisting of the HX, H, P and U series. Undoubtedly, the most striking model among these processors is the 24-core Core i9 13980HX. Today, Jarrod’sTech shared the results from the first engineering sample of the flagship processor.

What does the flagship Core i9 13980HX offer?

According to reports, Intel Core i9-13980HX will be presented to users with a 24-core configuration consisting of 8 performance and 16 efficiency cores similar to the Core i9-13900K. For those who don’t know, the Core i9-13900K was introduced with 125/253W TDP and 5.8GHz clock speeds. Mobil 13980HX, on the other hand, will have a TDP of 55W/157W and a maximum clock speed of 5.6 GHz.

Tested by Jarrod’sTech on MSI GE78 Raider and GT77 Titan laptop models with RTX 4090 support, the Core i9 13980HX scores 30498 in the Cinebench R23 multi-core test and 2135 points in a single core. We can say that the scores in question are similar or even higher with the 32-core AMD Threadripper 2990WX, which targets the server market.

In addition, the Core i9 13980HX, which has managed to surpass its predecessor Core i9-12950HX, seems to be the fastest laptop CPU ever released. MSI laptops with Intel HX and RTX 40 graphics cards are expected to be released on February 8. The company has not yet shared pricing information for the new laptops.
