Intel’s new generation Raptor Lake architecture, which frequently highlights improvements in gaming, seems to provide a significant advantage. Benchmark results of the Intel i9-13900K engineering sample have been leaked.
How is the Intel Core i9-13900K gaming performance?
The benchmark scores of the Intel Core i9-13900K engineering sample point to a significant improvement. Previously, Geekbench 5 had significant differences to Intel Core i9-12900K and Ryzen 9 5950X processors in single-core tests.
How is Intel Core i9-13900K performance?
In the game tests made with 8 different games and 3 different resolutions, the Intel Core i9-13900K processor improves minimum frame rates between 11-27% compared to the Intel Core i9-12900K processor. Testing has been done on CS:GO, Final Fantasy IX: Endwalker, PUBG, Forza Horizon 5, Far Cry 6, Red Dead Redemption 2, Horizon Zero Dawn and 3DMark. The system includes GeForce RTX 3090 Ti graphics card, 32GB DDR5-6400 RAM and 1.5kW power supply.
The Intel Core i9-13900K processor has 8 performance and 16 efficiency cores. There are 24 cores and 32 threads in total. While there are claims of 5.8GHz turbo frequency, the total cache is 68MB. The processor is expected to consume 125W-228W of energy.
The reasons for the good results in the tests are the performance increase of the P and E cores, the increase in the Level 2 cache capacity and the 8 E cores. While the biggest gain was experienced in Full HD resolution, an average of 11.65 percent was achieved in 4K resolution.
Of course, since it is an engineering example, the speeds go up to 5.5GHz and the energy consumption is quite high. The final version will likely have relatively low speeds and energy consumption, but still significant improvements over the previous generation.
