Alder Lake broke the record
As it is known, the 12th Gen Alder Lake and 13th Gen Raptor Lake architectures use the same processing technology as each other. However, Intel has enabled new generation processors to offer higher frequencies and fine-tuning with innovations in the architecture. During the event, overclocker Allen ‘Splave’ Golibersuch managed to overclock the 24-core flagship Core i9-13900K to 8.2 GHz under liquid nitrogen.
The speed increase in the new flagship was achieved in a single core, while the other cores were kept between 5.7GHz and 6.3GHz. However, with a new frequency value of 8.2GHz, the i9-13900K managed to surpass Lake i9-12900K’s 7.6 GHz and AMD Ryzen 9 7950X’s 7.2 GHz single core records.
Despite this success, we can say that the new generation AMD and Intel processors could not keep up with the 8.7GHz world record of the AMD FX 8370. Intel’s new flagship i9-13900K will be available to users on October 20 with a price tag of $ 589.
