The countdown has begun for Intel Raptor Lake Refresh and 14th Generation Meteor Lake processors. In this regard, as the launch window approaches, we continue to hear leaks about new processors. Today, early performance results for the Intel i5-14600K, which will be part of the Raptor Lake Refresh, have been leaked. So what will the new processor offer against its predecessor? Let’s take a look together.

What will Intel Raptor Lake Refresh processors offer?

For those who don’t know, Intel Raptor Lake Refresh processors will use the Raptor Cove P-Cores + Gracemont E-Cores configuration, which is currently available in the Raptor Lake series. Likewise, production processes will not change and Intel will be 7 or 10nm++. Apart from this, new generation processors are expected to showcase with small clock speed increases. Let us also remind you that these processors will be compatible with the LGA 1700 platform.

Today’s images contain important information about the features and performance of the Intel Core i5-14600K. Accordingly, Raptor Lake Refresh’s mid-range solution will maintain a similar 14 core (6 performance + 8 efficiency) 20 thread configuration with its predecessor. But CPU-Z images show a clock multiplier between 8 and 55. This shows that the processor can reach 5.5 GHz. Therefore, a noticeable performance increase can be experienced.

So what does Windows 11 offer against its Core i5-14600K predecessor, tested with 32GB of DDR5 RAM and a Z790 motherboard? Looking at the shared Geekbench 6 tests, we see that the Intel Core i5-14600K scored 17,190 in multi-core and 2,794 in single-core. These results show a dramatic increase over the previous generation i5-13600K (2,648-14,666) and i5-12600K (2,408-11,676). Of course, it is worth noting that higher clock speeds are behind this.

The release date of Intel Raptor Lake Refresh processors is not yet clear. However, current reports point to a date between the 42nd week of 2023, that is, between 17 October and 23 October. The 14th generation Meteor Lake processors will likely be showcased at Intel Innovation 2023 on September 19 and 20. It is expected to be released around October.
