Last October, Intel announced the 14th Generation Raptor Lake Refresh processors and clarified the K series models in the family. However, the wait still continues for mid- and entry-level solutions that do not have overclocking support. Finally, among these models, the Intel Core i5-14400F was displayed on the CPU-Z platform before the launch. So what does it offer? Let’s take a look together.

What does Intel Core i5-14400F offer?

According to information from CPU-Z, the Intel Core i5-14400F will indeed appear in a configuration similar to the i5-13400. The tested CPU has 10 cores and 16 threads, 6 for performance and 4 for efficiency. We also see that it will support speeds up to 4.7GHz. Basically this is 13400 which is 100MHz higher than its predecessor.

As for the results, the Core i5-14400F scored 765.5 and 6730.3 points in CPU-Z’s single and multi-threaded tests, respectively. When we make a little comparison, we can say that the results are 2.1 percent to 4.9 percent higher than its predecessor. Therefore, the new processor will be a minor update.

If we remember, the 13th Generation Raptor Lake processors made a big leap forward with higher core counts and clock speeds. However, it seems that we will encounter smaller improvements in this generation. The release date of the locked Raptor Lake Refresh processors is still unclear. However, Intel is planning an event on December 14th about Meteor Lake and Raptor Lake Refresh Core-HX chips. Therefore, we may encounter new announcements.
