Intel confirms 14th Gen Raptor Lake-S and HX Refresh processors

Intel, one of the leading names in the processor market, continues its preparations for the 14th Generation Raptor Lake Refresh and Meteor Lake processors, which are expected to be introduced soon. In this context, we continue to hear leaks about processors that will have a new naming scheme. Finally, a report from Intel confirmed the 14th Gen Raptor Lake-S (desktop) and HX Refresh (mobile) processors.

Intel confirms 14th Gen Raptor Lake-S and HX Refresh processors

For those who don’t know, Intel’s next processor family for laptops and desktops will also include a refresh to the Raptor Lake lineup. However, the shared charts show us that these processors will be divided into new naming schemes. Even the Raptor Lake Refresh line itself will be split into the “Core” and “Core i” families.

Briefly, the meaning of these charts is that the “Core” branding will apply to Meteor Lake (mobile) and Raptor Lake U Refresh (mobile). The old “Core i” scheme will be used by Raptor Lake-S Refresh (desktop) and Raptor Lake-HX Refresh (mobile).

In addition, Intel has separated this series from the Raptor Lake-U series, which includes Core 3, 5 and 7 processors, with the name “Core Ultra” to be included in Meteor Lake processors. On the other hand, it should be noted that both architectures will be part of the 14th generation. Therefore, we see that this change destroys the lines between architectures. So much so that there is a branding that covers more than one architecture under a single series.

Another image shows that the Meteor Lake and Raptor Lake-U mobile CPUs will start with a 1st Gen Core Ultra branding. We can say that this information confirms the Core Ultra 5 1003H and Intel Core Ultra 7 1002H numbering scheme that we encountered in previous leaks. So we will encounter 10xx model numbers.
