Arc A380 desktop graphics card, which Intel has quietly made official in China, comes with an important innovation. The DisplayPort 2.0 standard, which increases the bandwidth by around 20 percent, was included in this model for the first time.
A first from the Intel Arc A380 graphics card
Intel Arc A380 6GB is the first graphics card with DisplayPort 2.0 standard. The card has 3 DisplayPort 2.0 inputs and 1 HDMI 2.0 input. Normally, DisplayPort 2.0 inputs have 3 different versions. UHBR10, UHBR13.5 and UHBR20. The UHBR10 version can reach 40Gbps bandwidth, while the UHBR20 can reach 80Gbps bandwidth.
Intel Arc A380 preferred the UHBR10 version at this point. Theoretically, it can reach 38.69Gbps speeds. In the DisplayPort 1.4 standard, this figure was around 32.4Gbps. The HDMI 2.0 port can provide 18Gbps of bandwidth.
In this way, the video card can output 8K 60Hz and 4K 144Hz on dual screens, but there is a disadvantage. No monitor model yet supports DP 2.0 and therefore has to use DP 1.4. As a result, the outputs remain 8K 30Hz and 4K 120Hz on the dual screen. For now, DisplayPort 2.0 will not bring a significant advantage, but it will take effect when the first displays are released.
