Intel, which made a big surprise with its mining-focused chip called Bonanza Mine, continues its investments. The new chip, introduced with the name Blockscale ASIC, aims at higher digging power.
What does Blockscale ASIC offer?
The Bitcoin mining chip, introduced under the name Blockscale ASIC, is considered the third generation. The first generation prototype was Bonanza Mine while the second generation was its final version. The chip working with Secure Hash Algorithm-256 (SHA-256) is quite capable.
Intel Bonanza Mine mining chip introduced
580GH/s mining The chip, which can reach the speed of 26 J / TH, has energy efficiency. A mining solution can have up to 256 chips. Thus, while it reaches a digging speed of 148.5TH/s, it consumes energy between 1228W-5811W. There are sensors on the chip that detect temperature and voltage.
For comparison, Antminer S19 Pro ASIC device reaches 110TH/s excavation speed and 3250W consumption value. Bonanza Mine System, on the other hand, has a digging speed of 40TH/s. In other words, it seems like Intel will move the stones in the competition. Argo Blockchain, Block Inc., Hive Blockchain Technologies and GRIID are already among the first customers.
