With Pat Gelsinger, Intel, which focuses on casting technologies and announces significant investments, is making another critical move. A partnership begins with mobile architecture giant ARM on next-generation production technologies.

Intel and ARM partnership

According to the statement, Intel and ARM are coming together to put forward designs in the 2nm process, known as 20A, and 1.8nm, known as 18A, in the new period. In the first place, designs for the mobile world will be developed.

As part of the ARM partnership, Intel will prepare optimized architectures for 20A and 18A processes. Different mobile designs based on these architectures will also be presented to the players of the industry. Naturally, manufacturers who want to use these designs will also knock on Intel’s door. In the next period, the Internet of Things, data centers, automotive sector and space exploration sectors will also be included in the partnership.

There is no information about which companies are interested in these designs yet. Since Apple has been working with TSMC for a long time, it should be kept separate from this development. We can think that companies such as Qualcomm, MediaTek, UNISOC would want to have one or more designs in their product range.
