Meta-owned social media platform Instagram plans to add NFT integration for Ethereum, Polygon, Solana and Flow.
Last January, Meta, Instagram announced a new feature that will allow users to create, view and sell NFTs. Following this announcement, Instagram announced that it will support NFTs based on Ethereum, Polygon, Solana, and Flow. Instagram will try the pilot on a small NFT enthusiast in the US.
Instagram Will Not Charge Users
Instagram aims to support widely used crypto wallets such as MetaMask. Users will be able to prove NFT ownership with their wallets, display them on their profiles, and tag NFT creators.
According to CoinDesk, Instagram will not charge users to post and share NFTs.
This move of Instagram, which has more than one billion monthly active users, is seen as an important step for the development and adoption of the NFT industry.
